About me

Welcome to my page!

I am a twenty-something year old Dutch-South African photographer-musician-adventure-seeker. I moved to The Netherlands with my husband Brent in 2021 after finishing my degree in piano performance in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

My real love for photography started when I traveled Europe in my gap year back in 2015. I wrote a blog twice a week for the whole year and found that I really enjoyed writing stories and taking photos to share with my loved ones back in South Africa. This is also where I realised the power of photography and my love of storytelling. It’s been a love affair ever since.

My stomach flutters a little when the sun casts a golden glow over a beautiful landscape, or if a small ray of light escapes from behind a curtain. To me, the objective of photography is to create poetry through two important elements: light and love. By telling a story through photos, you capture moments of connection and memories that you want to last forever. I am a total sentimentalist, and my printed photo albums are among my most treasured possessions.

Here are a few facts about me:
  • I have a Master’s degree in piano pedagogy
  • I am also currently a piano teacher
  • I used to have an illustration business called Pens and Preludes
  • I married the love of my life in 2020
  • I am a Christian
  • I am fluent in Dutch, English, and Afrikaans
  • I have three brothers
These things make me really happy:
  • Children’s books (especially the illustrations)
  • Beautiful ethically produced clothing
  • Traveling, hiking, road trips, and camping
  • Decorating my home
  • Flowers, always
  • Beautiful light
  • Dancing
  • Craft markets
  • Live concerts
  • Spending time with friends and family

Creating is part of who I am. I absolutely love what I do, and there is nothing that gives me more energy than capturing people’s stories.

I look forward to hearing from you, and hopefully meeting you soon!
